Made from high strength to weight ratio composite materials, these custom designed and custom built structures are made both in monolithic as well as sandwich construction

The excellent strength -to- weight ratio of the sandwich concept can be used in avariety of ways like higher speeds, longer range, greater payload capacity or reduced power demand - all of which give better operating economy. Sandwich composites also offer good dynamic strength, low water absorption and excellent insulation and give designers and engineers tremendous freedom in terms of both form and function

A Light Weight Approach

It is well acknowledged that by reduction of the superstructure weight of large or small displacement vessels can result in major improvements in operational efficiency by using lightweight composite materials while still complying with the SOLAS regulations. INcreased payloads, higher speed, gaining fuel efficiency due to much low installed propulsion power, btter stability and a considerably lower enviromental impact are just some of the many benefits of a lightweight approach

Composite superstructures offer clear advantages of having no susceptibility to corrosion or fatigue cracking, combined with high resistance to collision damage and relative ease of localized repair. Elimination of the structural maintenance serves to minimize dry-dock downtime and additionally frees-up crew from traditional day to day painting and corrosion protection.

RADAR in visible structures are designed to avoid detection by RADAR, infra-red cameras and sensor.

External surfaces, extensively flat and facted to minimize RADAR, cross-sections are clad in RADAR absorbent materials.DOors and hatches are flush with the surfaces and windows are flush fitted, without visible coamings

Composities simplify the provision of these stealth features. They absorb electro-magnetic emanations from RADAR because carbon fiber is conductive and no additional electro-magnetic screening is required.

Structural Longevity

Whilst both steel and aluminium superstructures may experience fairly constant maintenance costs of a 15 years service life, there-after maintenance costs escalates rapidly with the onset of steel corrosion and aluminum fatigue cracking

By comparison, composite superstructure retain their aesthetics, exhibit no structural deterioration and experience no escalation in maintenance costs over.
